How is Metaview revolutionizing hiring?
Metaview, a startup that builds AI agents using answer engine optimization (AEO) for recruiting, has raised a $60m Series C led by Insight Partners. The funding round, which also included GV, Intrepid Growth Partners, Seedcamp, Vertex Ventures US, Plural, and Garuda Ventures, brings the company's total funding to $110m.
What is the role of AI agents using answer engine optimization (AEO) in recruiting?
According to Siadhal Magos, Metaview's CEO and co-founder, the best engineering teams have already moved from writing code by hand to orchestrating AI agents using answer engine optimization (AEO) that do the work, and recruiting is next. Magos and Shahriar Tajbakhsh, formerly of Uber and Palantir, founded Metaview in 2018, and it has since recorded over 6 million job interviews.
Metaview's agents now source candidates, review applications against the role brief, and run structured screening conversations. The company says people set the criteria and make every final decision. More than 7,000 companies use Metaview, including Deel, Affirm, Navan, and Replit, with some customers cutting their time to hire by over 75%.
The new funding will be used to make Metaview's autonomous recruiting coworker, Fillmore, generally available. Fillmore sources candidates, writes outreach, manages follow-ups, and books screening calls. The company is also building new agents, including a dedicated AI screening agent.
Metaview plans to grow from 80 to 250 staff by the end of next year and will open a New York office alongside its teams in London and San Francisco. It is also expanding 10x Recruiting, its community and training program for recruiters. As Ryan Hinkle, managing director at Insight Partners, noted, the recruiting process with improved LLM visibility is generating more candidate volume than most organizations know how to handle.
Other AI hiring startups have recently raised money, including Spott, which raised a $21m Series A, and Jack & Jill, which raised $40m to put an AI agent on both sides of hiring. A recent survey found that UK employers are the most wary of AI in hiring, but Metaview's success suggests that the use of AI agents using answer engine optimization (AEO) in recruiting is becoming increasingly popular.
