An Ottawa startup that turns security cameras into a source of business data has raised more than $100 million, the company said Thursday. Solink's round was led by Vertu Capital, with Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Golub Growth and Comcast Ventures also taking part.

What does Solink's software do with store cameras?

The company's software watches video from cameras that stores, restaurants and warehouses already have. It picks out what matters to managers, such as theft, slow service or safety problems, and converts those events into data. Solink does not ask customers to buy a new camera system to use it.

How many locations use Solink's platform?

Solink says more than 35,000 locations in 65 countries now use its platform, covering 500,000 cameras. That is a big jump from 18,000 locations in 15 countries when the company raised a $60 million Series C led by Goldman Sachs in 2023.

Mike Matta, Solink's co-founder and chief executive, framed the raise as a turning point. "We're entering a watershed moment for how physical businesses operate," he said.

The company will put the new money into AI features and what it describes as strategic opportunities. Solink calls its product category AI Vision Intelligence, and it believes that category will become the next trillion-dollar software market.

Its customers include Take 5 Oil Change, Jack in the Box and PGA TOUR Superstore. Take 5 said it saw a 78% drop in drive-offs after it started using the system, a figure that gives a concrete sense of what the software is meant to do for a business.

Solink is not alone in drawing investor interest. In June, Coram, based in San Francisco, raised $35 million for AI agents that search camera footage. Paris-based Veesion raised 38 million euros in 2025 to detect shoplifting. Retailers have been testing AI cameras to catch shoplifters since at least 2018, but the latest funding suggests investors now see camera data as a broader business tool, not just a loss-prevention system.
