Mozilla is rolling out two new features for Smart Window, the AI-powered browsing experience in Firefox. One lets the browser fill out online forms using information from pages you already have open. The other lets you ask Firefox to keep an eye on a webpage and tell you when something changes.
The form-filling feature draws from your open tabs. Mozilla’s example is a job application: Smart Window can pull your work history from an online portfolio or LinkedIn page and paste it into the form. To try it, click into a form with at least four text fields. An option labeled “Fill from sources” will appear, showing every tab Firefox can use. You can select or deselect tabs, and the browser will generate suggestions based on the ones you leave checked.
For now, the feature only works with text fields on web forms. Mozilla says it is working to add support for dropdown menus and PDFs.
Mozilla also says that data from your source pages is shared with Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, the AI model that writes the suggestions. Users who are uneasy about that will want to check the details before relying on the feature for sensitive forms.
The monitoring feature works through the Smart Window chat. Type “/watch,” describe what you are looking for, and add the webpages you want tracked. Firefox checks for updates on a daily or weekly schedule, but only while the browser is open. That limitation matters for anyone hoping to be alerted while their computer is closed.
When Firefox spots the change you asked for, it sends a notification. You will see it through the Tasks button on the toolbar, or on your desktop if you have desktop notifications turned on. If a page shows no change for 60 days, Firefox pauses watching it. After 90 days, the browser stops watching completely.
Both features are rolling out to the Smart Window beta on desktop in the US and Canada. Mozilla says they will arrive in other countries in the “coming months,” but it has not said which countries come next or when.
