Memory Feature Expands Claude’s Capabilities
Anthropic announced that its Claude AI chatbot is now equipped with a Memory feature for paid subscribers on the Pro and Max plans. The addition is designed to make Claude more intuitive and personalized by remembering prior conversations and interactions. This enables the assistant to provide more relevant answers and improve efficiency over time.
Control, Transparency, and Granular Management
Memory is built with full transparency. Users can see exactly what Claude remembers, review stored information, and edit or delete specific memories at any moment. A simple toggle lets users turn Memory on or off, and an “Incognite chat” mode offers a clean slate for private interactions.
Import and Export Across AI Platforms
Claude now supports importing and exporting memory data from other AI services, including ChatGPT and Gemini. This feature eases transitions for users who want to consolidate their AI tools without losing previously stored context.
Distinct Memory Spaces for Multiple Projects
The system can create separate memory spaces, allowing users to keep different projects isolated. For example, a product roadmap can have its own memory separate from a creative writing task, preventing cross‑contamination of context.
Integration with Other Services
Memory joins a suite of recent Anthropic updates such as real‑time web search, Voice Mode for hands‑free collaboration, and research tools for deeper investigations. Claude also integrates with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Canva, Figma, and offers Claude Code for coding projects.
Rollout Schedule
Max subscribers will find the Memory setting today, while Pro users will receive it over the coming days. The feature is part of Anthropic’s broader effort to help Claude understand a user’s complete work context and adapt automatically.
