Anthropic told potential investors on October 14 that its third-quarter 2026 revenue reached $16.8 billion, and that the artificial intelligence company also reported an adjusted profit for the period. The figures were shared at an investor event at the company's San Francisco headquarters, just weeks before its planned stock market debut.

The Financial Times first reported the numbers. Soon after, Reuters, citing two attendees, and Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, reported the same revenue figure. Anthropic has not published the results, and it declined to comment to Bloomberg.

The $16.8 billion covers revenue earned during the quarter itself. That makes it different from the annualized run rates that AI companies often cite when describing their growth.

According to Reuters, Anthropic's revenue was about $11.6 billion in the second quarter and $4.7 billion in the first. The latest figure represents a rise of about 45% over the second quarter. The second-quarter number is close to the more than $11.5 billion in revenue that Anthropic shared with investors in August. At that time, the company also said its adjusted operating income was positive.

None of the reports say which costs the adjusted measure leaves out, and no profit figure was disclosed. Anthropic did tell investors it was cash-flow positive in the quarter, the Financial Times reported.

The results come after a difficult 2025. Anthropic's revenue that year rose to nearly $4.6 billion, but its operating loss topped $8 billion. That loss figure excludes write-downs of liabilities linked mostly to earlier fundraising.

Chief executive Dario Amodei and chief financial officer Krishna Rao both met with investors at the event, Reuters reported. Those who attended left upbeat about the company's growth and its path to profitability, the news agency said.

The timing of the listing has shifted more than once. Anthropic had been expected to go public in October, before the midterm elections. Bloomberg now reports that formal marketing could begin as early as the week of November 9, with trading set to start before Thanksgiving, on November 26. Bloomberg added that the plans remain fluid and the dates could change.

Some prospective investors have put a fair valuation on Anthropic at between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion, Bloomberg reported. If the deal goes ahead at that scale, it could match the size of SpaceX's record listing.
