Norrsken Foundation and Nvidia plan to open a hub for artificial intelligence startups in central Stockholm in 2027, giving a small group of European founders a place to build. The Stockholm AI Lab will host founders who use AI to tackle problems in climate, health, food and society. Nvidia's Stockholm office will also be housed there.

The lab will occupy a 1910 building at Birger Jarlsgatan 37, about 200 meters from Norrsken House Stockholm, the foundation's first hub and global headquarters. It will be Norrsken's second site in the city, and founders can already apply for membership.

“What these founders need now is what every great movement needs: a place,” said Niklas Adalberth, the Klarna co-founder who set up Norrsken in 2016.

Nvidia is the lab's founding technology partner. Beyond its office, the chipmaker will offer AI computing power, developer tools for robotics, simulation and life sciences, and links to Inception, its program for startups.

The deal adds to Nvidia's push in Europe. Earlier this week, chief executive Jensen Huang said the company would put a further $2 billion into European AI companies.

On the ground floor, Nvidia and Root Bio will run a demo lab. Root Bio, a Norrsken portfolio company formerly known as Agteria, uses AI to design molecules that address biological problems, such as greenhouse gas emissions. Later demo partners will be chosen in robotics, climate, health and manufacturing.

The lab will also include private offices for startups, a lounge for members and a regular program of events. Members will be able to use both Stockholm sites and join Norrsken's wider network.

The project follows a pledge Norrsken made in June 2025, when it set aside a €300 million AI fund for European startups using AI for social and environmental good. The foundation now runs that program under the name Prompt What Matters.

Norrsken says Stockholm is already producing some of Europe's fastest-growing AI companies. It points to Legora, Lovable, Sana, now part of Workday, and Einride, a Norrsken VC portfolio company that listed on Nasdaq in June at a $1.35 billion valuation.

Besides Stockholm, Norrsken runs houses in Barcelona, Kigali, Brussels and Amsterdam. Its five funds have raised more than $1 billion.
