How much does Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash cost?
Google has made Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash, the latest version of its AI video model, generally available and cut its price by 30%, the company said Thursday. The model now costs about $0.07 per second of 720p video through the Gemini API, down from $0.10 a second in June.
How long can Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash videos be?
The biggest change for users is length. The model can now produce clips up to 15 seconds long in a single pass, up from 10. Users can also revise a clip across several turns in chat. They can swap out a product or background or change the lighting without generating the whole video again from scratch.
Google says the model holds its subjects together better. Faces, clothes, packaging text and brand colors now stay more consistent across camera angles, with fewer glitches and jump cuts. In comparisons run by Google DeepMind, testers preferred version 1.2 over 1.1 for visual consistency 62% of the time.
Where can you use Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash?
The model is rolling out in Flow, Google Vids and Google Ads. For subscribers to Google AI Ultra, it is also available in the Gemini app. Businesses can use it through Google Cloud, which marks the first time Omni has been generally available on that platform.
Every video carries an invisible SynthID watermark, Google said.
Google first showed Omni Flash at its I/O conference in May, when clips were capped at 10 seconds. The company acknowledged that it is still working on several areas, including fast sports action, quick script changes and complex physics.
The competition is also moving fast. ByteDance's Seedance 2.5, unveiled in June, produces 30-second clips, twice the length of Google's new maximum. Google is also the only American company with a model in the top 10 of one popular AI video ranking. Chinese models hold the other nine spots.
