Anthropic announced that Claude’s conversational memory will now carry over to its Cowork AI assistant, letting users retain context across tools. The update also introduces automatic memory updates, a pause‑and‑reset option, and a revamped settings hub where users can edit, delete, or opt‑in to store sensitive topics. Certain data—government IDs, criminal records, financial numbers and immigration status—remain off‑limits even when users enable the sensitive‑topic feature. Anthropic announced Tuesday that its Claude chatbot and Claude Cowork productivity tool will share a unified memory system. The change means the AI can retain information from one conversation to the next, eliminating the need for users to re‑brief the assistant when switching between research and action phases.
