Apple released its 27.2 updates for iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS and other operating systems on Tuesday, with a heavy focus on Siri AI. The iOS 27.2 update lets Siri recall past conversations, draw on more personal data sources such as voicemails and Messages attachments, and respond in five additional languages: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. Cloudflare Says Flaw Exposed Data From 155 Responses on Workers AI's GLM 5.3 Model

Cloudflare says a bug in its Workers AI platform caused 155 responses from the GLM 5.3 model to contain data from other customers' requests between August 27 and September 9, 2026. The company said the responses all followed prompts longer than 681,280 tokens. A security researcher reported the flaw through Cloudflare's bug bounty program on September 8. Cloudflare took the model offline, fixed a configuration error and a bug in the open-source SGLang inference engine, and restored the model on September 9. The company said it found no evidence of deliberate exploitation. Lire la suite

Marissa Mayer Defends Asking Her AI App to Describe Her Daughter

Former Yahoo chief executive Marissa Mayer on Monday defended using her startup’s AI assistant, Dazzle, to write a birthday slide about her daughter, after a New York Times profile drew widespread criticism on X. Mayer said she tested the app’s limits when her daughter’s teachers asked for a slide celebrating each twin. She said Dazzle distinguished the identical twins and surfaced forgotten kindergarten projects from her photos. Dazzle, which launched in late September, reads a user’s camera roll to answer questions and make suggestions, and it competes with personal AI agents such as Meta’s Muse. Lire la suite

OpenAI Launches Dots, an Always-On Assistant That Works Before You Ask

OpenAI has released dots, a personal assistant designed to keep working in the background without waiting for user prompts. Available to ChatGPT subscribers on the Pro tier or higher, with plans starting at $100 a month, dots can connect to a user's calendar, email, computer and other tools to help get work done. OpenAI enterprise product lead Alexander Embiricos described the product at TechCrunch Disrupt, explaining how it grew out of the company's agentic coding tools. The launch comes as rivals such as Meta push their own assistants, and it raises open questions about timing, privacy controls and how businesses will handle AI agents acting on people's behalf. OpenAI Model Claims to Disprove a Core Computer Science Conjecture, Sparking Independent Review

OpenAI said Monday that an internal model has disproved the Exponential Time Hypothesis, a conjecture that hundreds of computer science papers rely on. The company published its write-up and a machine-checked proof on GitHub, and three leading researchers who helped propose the hypothesis have agreed to organize an independent examination. OpenAI announced two more results the same day, one in mathematics and one in physics. The company says it will not seek academic credit for the discoveries, and it has raised questions about how researchers should be recognized when AI produces the key findings first. Lire la suite

Anthropic Warns Natural Gas Supply and Power Costs Could Slow Its Data Center Buildout

Anthropic, which is preparing to go public, says in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that its AI data centers increasingly rely on natural gas. The company warns that rising fuel costs, supply chain constraints, and fierce competition for power could delay or derail planned projects. The filing also points to climate change as a financial risk, since hotter temperatures would raise its cooling and electricity costs. The disclosure puts a spotlight on the fossil fuel demands of the AI boom at a time when local opposition to data centers is growing. Lire la suite
